Select the colors of your wedding

The selection of your marriage or the marriage palette colors will be one of the most important planning decisions you make. Your colours will help shape and determine the many choices, including your decorations went and flowers, your boss table and mistresses and your bridesmaid dresses and bridesmaid jewellery.

Depending on how formal you want your marriage to look, you have to select two, three, and perhaps more colors for your theme. There are three types of color of marriage:

* Your dominant color is the main color, most frequently used throughout your marriage plan. Bridesmaid Dresses think.

* Secondary or complementary colors are also a part of your official plan. By comparing these with your dominant colour you set the tone of your wedding and reception.

* Additional colors, while it is not part of your formal marriage plan, add the vivacity and spontaneity to the appearance of your marriage. These are additional colors that will work their way in the mixture of ways shortly.

All these makeup colors from the palette of your marriage. When you select your color scheme, you want to your secondary colors to complement your dominant colour. Similarly, you want as your additional colors to complement both your dominant and secondary colors. Whenever you add a color in your official plan that limit you the number of additional colors that will work in your palette.

Structure is created by the number of colors and shades that you use. Colors less you use your marriage will appear more formal. For example, if you limit you to using only blue and ivory, your marriage will be very formal. As soon as you add your marriage will look more lively and spontaneous more colors. By adding a secondary official colour or two to your wedding plan, you can achieve a balance that is official and festive as different additional colors to work with the palette, you will be limited.

Instead of set your heart on a dominant colour from the outset, choose colors of different potentials four or five you can test. Visit the sites of your ceremony and reception and discover what colors will work in these areas. Your wedding coordinator personal home site or rental company will be able to help you. Try your colors possible on your bridesmaids to discover those that will make them look pretty and flattering. A pleasure to do this is a group visit in your bridal shop or the local fabric store. Your wedding will be held in the spring, summer, fall or winter and what are the colors of this season?

Don't forget to take into consideration the different emotions or moods that evoke colors. Vibrant colors will add a dramatic sense; Romance of softer colors:

Choosing Your Wedding Colors - Set the Mood and the Overall Theme Your Wedding and Reception

Because the selection of Wedding Colors sets the mood and the overall theme your Wedding and Reception the selection of your wedinng and reception colors is critical to the overall event. The proper and skillful use of color can and will convey meanings to you and your guests as none of us are immune to its power. Color will affect the atmosphere of a room and the mood of a moment. Do you want your wedding to be tranquil and calming? Have you always dreamed of an elegant black-tie affair? Perhaps you've always wanted a wedding that is refreshing, happy, and bright? All the details from the wedding invitations to the dresses, neckties, vests, shoes and ribbons, and the wedding reception decorations, table linens, wedding flowers, and candles are vehicles for color. The colors chosen for these items should work flawlessly together to leave a lasting impression of your special wedding day.

So, where do you start? Proper color choice should solidify YOU, the bride, as the center of attention. All elements around you should work with you and not against you. If you select a dominate color that looks great on you and build from there you will be assured that your wedding will make you glow!

Choose colors you love but consider:

1 What colors work best with YOU? Think: Your hair color, Your skin tone, and Your eye color!

2. What colors work best with the hair colors and skin tones of your bridesmaids?

3. What mood or emotions are you trying to create or evoke? Vibrant colors will add drama while softer colors will create a more romantic feeling.

4. What time of year are you getting married: spring, summer, fall, winter? Christmas colors in the spring would feel harsh and summer colors at Christmas time would look weak. Don't fight Mother Nature! Celebrate her colors of the moment! Remember, spring and summer colors tend to be lighter and brighter, while muted colors work best for fall and jewel tones are the choice for winter.

5. What flower types and/or flower colors are available for that particular time of year? Roses are available year long, but long stemmed red roses at Valentine's Day would be expensive and hard to come by.

6. You will want to choose colors that compliment the carpeting, draperies, walls, etc. of the wedding reception venue. If the venue has Dark Blue Carpets and Hunter Green Drapes for example then soft pinks and light yellows would most definitely clash! Also, be sure to ask if the venue is planning to do any redecorating before your reception will take place so you know your colors will still look good on your special day. It would be a disappointment to pick colors that match the current walls, floors, and drapes of the venue, only to find out at the last moment that the venue's colors have changed and now clash with your carefully planned color choices. If your wedding reception is going to be outside consider what colors are already present. For example, at the beach you'll want colors that match the sea and the sand or coral; in a garden setting, consider the colors of the flowers that will be present at that time of the year. If your reception will be held in a cultural hall, most walls and floors are a neutral tone, so your color choices are endless.

You may already have a favorite color in mind. If not, think about a favorite piece of art, or a favorite room in your home. Perhaps your fiancé has a favorite color. Or you may want to consider what your color choices mean. Most colors convey meanings. And once you have your primary color chosen you'll want to consider your secondary color(s). Think of all elements of your wedding when deciding on the accent color and you get a broader picture of what the end result could look like.

One of the best ways to choose colors is to use a color wheel. With a color wheel you can see how some of your favorite colors will work together. When certain colors are placed together in a room they collectively create an undeniable look and feel. Combing dark and pale shades will produce a rich feel or you can pair any color with white for an ethereal effect. You might also consider using shades of a single color and vary the hue in intensity for example from soft butter yellow to bright yellow. Using many shades of the same color in all the accoutrements will help you avoid a monotonous look.

Would you like your wedding to have a feeling of elegance? You would want to choose colors that are assortments of the same tone. This color scheme is called Monochromatic. Dark purple, bright purple, and lilac would be an example of this.

To create a gentle effect you may want to choose Analogous colors. Analogous colors are those that lie adjacent to each other on the color wheel such and green and blue, or try yellow, peach, and orange, or lavender with lilac.

To produce a vibrant, energizing combination, choose colors that lie opposite one another on the wheel! Colors found at the opposite sides of a color wheel are called contrasting or complementary colors. For example, yellow is on the exact opposite side of a color wheel from purple. Contrasting colors seem to "pop" and create fun, lively combinations! You may also want to choose 2 colors from one of the opposing colors. For example, if yellow is your main color, you may choose light lavender and dark purple as your 2 complimentary shades. Beautiful!

For a fun, fresh, and happy combination, try colors that are equidistant on the color wheel. If a line were drawn from 3 "points" of each color, the lines would create a triangle. This is an example of Triad colors. If you use yellow and purple in this case, then fuchsia would become your third color. Remember to use only 1 color as your main color and the other 2 as accent colors only.

Tetrad is the use of four colors spaced equal distance on a color wheel. An example would be purple, yellow, red, and green. If yellow is your main color you may have tablecloths of yellow, with centerpieces of red and purple flowers, mixed with greenery. Stunning!

Any of these strategies will give you a well coordinated color scheme! Happy Choosing!

Tips for Selecting Your Wedding Colors

How well your wedding comes together does not depend solely on the cake, invitations, centerpieces, where you choose to get married or even where you hold your reception. Instead, the general look relies on the theme you choose, your wedding colors and how well you incorporate the two. Here we will talk about selecting your wedding colors.

In previous years, brides traditionally worked within a white wedding theme. Brides now are working with a broader palette, with bold colors, accent colors and combination colors. Here follows a process for choosing your wedding colors.

The first step in selecting your colors is to coordinate with the wedding location. Decide on where the wedding will occur, then consider what colors may be appropriate for the venue. The type of location will also matter as to what colors may go along with the space. For example, a country club may be well suited for a nautical blue wedding while a more rustic setting will lend itself to earthy tones. A green colored venue may not go along well with a hot pink wedding motif.

Secondly, pick the colors that you like best. Try looking through art galleries, or scanning through wedding magazines. A country wedding style may be suitable with a brown and yellow theme. Green with cantaloupe may be chic on a riverside wedding. Nautical blue and red stripes can be perfect for a navy wedding. If there are many rooms in the wedding venue, try creating a theme for each room to have multiple ambiences.

Once you narrow your choices, you will then choose the precise shade of colors. You may decide on green as one of your wedding colors. What exact shade of green will you use; lime, blue-green, olive? If you cannot decide on one particular color, mix two or even three to five colors as wedding motif. Try a combination of your favorite colors. Make sure they blend really well, even if they collide and contrast. Take, for example, the pink and orange wedding. These colors may collide depending on the shades used or they may compliment each other beautifully. Hot pink and burnt orange wedding colors, for instance, clash while coral pink and tangerine complement.

Most every detail of the wedding will coordinate with the wedding color. Here are some specific elements that are greatly affected by the wedding color.

The attire, particularly the gown can be perfect white. If the bride decides to accentuate her gown, she can choose among her wedding colors.
The bridesmaid dresses should be in the wedding colors.
The wedding invitations should also reflect the wedding color, as it stages the event. The invitation sets the mood you want to evoke on you wedding day, as well. As you coordinate the color of the invitations to the wedding color, match the font, monogram and ribbons or buttons, to create uniformity.
The flowers will complement the color you pick for your wedding theme. One important note about flowers is that the availability and affordability of the flowers to use in coordination with the wedding color may become an issue. If the flowers you want are off-season, and thus are too costly, try using neutral shades for the flowers and accessorize centerpieces with color coordinated ribbons.
The colors for the wedding cake are an element that is the easiest to manipulate when it comes to colors.

The color or combination of your wedding affects the mood of the event. Thus, in creating the desired mood you want for you big day, try playing with the colors. What emotions do you want to express? Peaceful, relaxing and calm? Romantic? Active or vibrant? It's up to you.

Wedding Ideas - Top Tips for Picking Your Wedding Colors

Are you running out of great wedding ideas? Sure, you may have already started planning about specific details, but you might have overlooked one detail that will give your big day a good foundation: your wedding colors. This should be at the top of your list, as having a nice color theme will help give visual unity to the event, and make your wedding appear more expensive and elegant than it really is.

Coming up with good wedding ideas, particularly choosing the perfect wedding colors that reflect your personality may be a bit daunting, but really, it's quite simple with a bit of help.

A lot of people base their wedding color theme on a favorite flower or shade. You may want to select one primary color and one or two colors that will serve as accents. A good way to start is by seeing a couple of predetermined factors:

1. Does either the ceremony site or the reception have strong colors?

2. Have you already picked a dress for you and your bridesmaids?

3. Are you set on choosing a particular flower?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you are halfway to discovering your wedding color theme. If not, then a good way to start would be by considering the season when your big day will take place. Summer and spring affairs normally include brights and pastels. Winter weddings suggest burgundies, deep purples, silvers and grey-greens. Fall season brings with it the harvest tones of reds, yellows and oranges.

Here are things that you may want to avoid:

1. Losing your personality - don't go for pastels just because it's a popular choice. Consider what you normally wear, as well as the hues that you have used to decorate your home. These are great colors that you are typically comfortable with.

2. Going for too much black - yes, black may indeed be the epitome of sophistication, but you don't want to end up looking like a funeral - your wedding day is a day of happiness, love, fun and celebration! If you particularly like black, you may want to balance it with tones of bright color and lots of white.

3. Choosing too many colors - two is ideal, three is still doable, but choosing more than three color themes will end up looking strange and ununified. Keep in mind that your wedding color theme should tie everything together, and you can pull this off by having everything in 1-2 hues.

Easy ways to choose your wedding colors

Choosing your wedding colors can be one of the most frustrating decisions, that you'll have to make. Nothing else can be really decided until you have selected a plan. Thus, we hope to remove some of the frustration you proposing some inspiring ways to come with your palette.

A good starting point is with paint companies. Each year most of the manufacturers of paint will come out with their annual trends color brochure. In the brochure, they will offer a series of colors (usually connected) different three or four that complement each other. You will find brochures in their stores or online. Choose the color of the combination that you like the most and make it the dominant colour. It is the color that you can then use to dresses bridesmaid, the links of married men, the invitation envelopes, cake icing of marriage, etc.. Choose and so on one or two of the other colours as flowers in bouquets, table centres toppings, napkins. Two vendors of painting to try are http://www.behr.com (choose the option "Smart color") and http://www.benjaminmoore.com (click on colors, then Style, then 2007 colors).

Tape reasons and decorative paper, such as those used in scrap booking, provide for wives beautiful color palettes. Decorative paper of the seller http://www.papermojo.com has a great article on their website in their "Gallery of Inspiration" that gives you several ideas of palette - purple and turquoise and copper cocoa. If you find decorative ribbon and paper you like for a color scheme, another advantage is that it can also be used in your decorations. Tapes can be used to bind the maps of the place of towels, monopolize the wedding favor bags and paper can be used as a backdrop to a white menus invitation or dinner. Discover tapes more beautiful and decorative paper to http://www.paperstudio.com.

Bottom of screen and printed fabric are the other sources of inspiration. Which is great, it is that you can free of charge, shaders and then carry these autour to match other aspects. It does not mean that you will need to use the fabric of your marriage, simply use the color as a guide. More dominant color in the pattern is probably that which you want to so dominant.

Many shops of decoration, such as Pottery Barn, Crate and barrel and Pier 1 ®, have large catalogs that show table ups set to display their dishes and dishes. There are many good ideas for combinations of colors here. Also, make sure you check table linen such as patterned fabric napkins, tablecloths and placemats, also known for the color groups of interest.

If you have decided you want to go with pastel or soft colours, discover the baby clothes and children of color combos fairly mild, especially of places like the gap or Gymboree ®. This may seem crazy, but another great source for a pastel palette are sets of eyelids. One of our favorites is Eye Shadow Trio of the Maybelline in almond truffles - beautiful coordinating shades of silver grey, lavender and blush.

If you have a marriage of Christmas, see high-end cards Christmas or gift wrap for this good combination of elegant seasonal colours. If you are looking for jewel tones, check costume jewels pins, which were generally a mixture of colors that work well together, or at least shades that go well with the gold and silver, which, as large, colour accents. See a few beautiful jeweller to http://www.pugster.comPIN. For a beach wedding it would seek an excellent point of departure for the dynamics of swimsuits or sarongs.

Another powerful tool, you can try is the Panel color Guide feature in the new version of Adobe Illustrator ® CS3. You select a color that you like and it will give you automatically three or four harmonious color combinations.

Also you have to use more than one color of your wedding. Just choose a color and use two or three different shades of it. But if you do not want a combination of colors, you want to a dominant color with color of focus not more than one or two. It would be also useful to have white cream or ivory somewhere in the mix. Also you have to go with the old adage of pastels lighter for spring and summer and shades darker for the fall and winter, unless, for example, your wedding photos will be opposite fall foliage and you are concerned about the holding of the Party of your marriage, clashes with the background.

Wedding Color Schemes - Narrowing Down Your Choices

In making the preparations for a wedding, every aspect of the wedding, from the flowers to the ribbons revolves under a central theme. Normally, the most prominent of all the elements of the wedding theme is the specific wedding color scheme.

What are the things that need to be considered in choosing the perfect color for your wedding? Here are the different aspects of the wedding that will help you decide on which color suits the wedding best.

Of course, the first thing that needs to be considered in choosing a wedding color scheme is the couple's personality. Just like in any other element of the wedding, it should be the couple's decision because it will be their special day. Sure, many brides would go for pink but some men are not comfortable with the color because it is too feminine. That is why the couple should sit down with each other and with their wedding coordinator to discuss their preferred colors.

The next thing that is usually considered in choosing the color scheme for the wedding would be the location. For example, a garden wedding usually needs wedding colors that will complement earthy tones, such as moss green or light brown. While it may be true that purple will still blend perfectly with a garden setting, you might decide that it is more suitable for an indoor portion of your wedding.

The time of the wedding is also another consideration in choosing the colors. For weddings held during the mornings, lighter tones such as baby pink, lavender and sky blue are very popular. However, for evening weddings, darker hues such as old rose and navy blue are more appropriate. This is actually true not just in weddings but also in most formal events. There are certain colors, however, that will look perfect whether day or night, such as the color gold.

If you have been dreaming of a specific flower to use in your wedding ever since, it would be ideal to take this into consideration as well. Remember that some flowers only come in specific colors, although there are also modern methods of transforming a white bloom into any color. However, it would still be ideal to use only the freshest and most natural flowers during your wedding.

As soon as you have chosen your preferred wedding color, it would be best to make sure that every tiny detail in your wedding will be able to follow your theme. Make sure that the wedding entourage has dresses of that specific colors and the caterer has cloth for tables and chairs that match it, too.

Making all the necessary preparations for a wedding is one of the most tedious jobs a woman will ever do in her life. Because of the wide variety of products available nowadays, settling on a decision may seem to be near impossible. However, being able to first decider on your preferred color scheme will dramatically narrow down your choices. Make sure that you finalize your color scheme even before any other preparation so it would be easier for you to incorporate all the other details of the wedding.

Ideal Summer Wedding Colors and Combinations

A summer wedding is a popular choice among many couples, and one that many brides have dreamed about since they were little girls. Warm weather makes it a prime time for guests to get away and attend the wedding, and the flowers are in full bloom, making it easier to get your favorites. Choosing the ideal summer wedding colors can be overwhelming because the possibilities are endless. The easiest way to choose the primary and secondary colors are by finding those most suited to the season, and then picking the ones you like best.

Colors for a Beach Theme

A wedding with a beach theme is typically relaxed and casual, so choose colors that reflect the sky, the ocean, and the sand, such as blues, champagne and cream. A turquoise blue with a secondary color of cream will give you an elegant, yet casual, beach atmosphere. Using a pale champagne color as the primary one, with hints of blues and greens, will provide a brighter and sea color atmosphere.

Tropical Wedding Theme Colors

A tropical wedding is bright, bold and hot, so the colors chosen should reflect the items found on a tropical island. Bright yellows, orange, reds and hot pinks are the most popular colors for tropical flowers. However, when using bright colors, it is best to go with one primary color and one or two secondary colors. For example, hot pink looks fabulous with either a dark, leafy green or even a lime green, when used sparingly.

Formal Summer Colors

Although traditionally, a formal wedding is associated with black and white, for a summer wedding choose a deep midnight blue as the primary color and accent it with white, silver, or a pale grey. For a bolder, yet still formal look, a very deep and dark purple as the main color and touches of white or cream is a very elegant look.

Color Schemes For A Garden Wedding

This type of wedding can either be done in relaxing, less formal colors or you could opt for slightly more formal with a splash of whimsical. Garden weddings are typically held outdoors, which means you will need to work with the colors of the flowers already in the garden, and pick other colors that will complement them. For example, if the venue has a variety of colors in the garden flowers, use a cream, white or champagne to complement without outdoing the colors already there.

Red Rose Themed Wedding

If you adore the roses in your summer garden, choose red as your predominant color. The good thing about red is there are a number of colors that look fantastic with it. If you want to give the ceremony and reception a romantic atmosphere, the ideal summer wedding colors are reds and pinks, which will provoke thoughts of Valentine's Day. For a semi-formal atmosphere, a deep red with cream next to it looks amazing. For a bright summery day in the garden atmosphere, a bright red can be paired with yellows, oranges or tan. It is best to avoid using green with some shades of red as it will take on a Christmas feel as opposed to a wedding theme.

Choosing Your Wedding Color

Should you use your favorite color for your wedding theme? What happens if your favorite color is yellow and your wedding is in the winter? It's still your wedding and your choice if you want to use yellow, but you may not want to use yellow as the main wedding color but more of an accent color such as the mini roses in the bouquets or as the ribbon around your wedding favor.

Color can be used in so many ways for weddings. From an accent color to the main color theme used in everything from the bridal party dresses to the table cloths and napkins at the reception. It is up to you how much color, or how little color, you want.

Some of the prettiest weddings we've seen have used multiple colors or shades of the same color throughout the planning of their weddings to the actual event. One color is used for the bridal shower, another color for the ceremony, followed by combining the colors for the reception. It's actually a very easy thing to do that will result in spectacular look.

For example, you have selected blue for your wedding color - great choice for anytime of the year. Your bridal shower kicks off with a lovely baby blue being used as flowers on your cake, bells, ribbons and decorations are intertwined with baby blue and white and your bridal shower favors also feature something blue and look beautiful sitting on your guest's white table cloths.

Moving onto your wedding day, you have selected a deeper shade of blue for your bridal party. The bridesmaid's dresses are the color of the ocean with your groomsmen bow ties matching. Your bouquet is white or ivory roses or calla lilies intermingled with the blue hydrangeas which carries the color theme elegantly throughout the bridal party.

At your reception, you have chosen to add an even deeper hue of blue and now have three gorgeous blue shades throughout the reception location. Your bridal table, guest tables, gift table and cake table all have three different cloths with the deepest blue tablecloth on the top. The other colors peek below as they cascade to the floor. White place settings and napkins sit majestically on the deep blue of the table cloth. Gorgeous tall white candles burn in the center of each table and at each guest seat is a tasteful white candle wedding favor for your guests to take with to remind them of your beautiful wedding day.

Your wedding cake is a cascade of white flowers and pale blue ribbons. Beautiful white and blue bows are scattered throughout carrying your colors even further. Finally, you have the beautiful blue garter that your husband can sexily slide off your leg!

It doesn't matter which color you select as your wedding color as they are so many creative ways to use color for your wedding. Enjoy the process as you plan the wedding that your dreams are made of!

Wedding Colors Go Solo

Trends in wedding colors have been changing. It is becoming growingly popular to take one solid color as the focus for the entire wedding. One color dominates the entire event and stands alone without the assistance of accent colors. Will it be color over kill? When done right it appears to be a bold choice and looks fabulous. Here are some ideas for the trendiest colors being used for these one color shows.

Chartreuse green has been a leading wedding color for the past few years. You have seen this pretty green combined with chocolate brown and aqua. But this fresh green color can hold its ground alone. The trend in weddings colors is to use one solid color as the focal point throughout the entire wedding. The weddings colors have no other accents and highlights besides what the bride wears - usually white or ivory. Among this trend towards one single color, stands this pretty chartreuse green, lime green or apple green and has become a popular choice for brides. Start with the green in the invitations and take it through out the wedding to the cake, flowers, decorations, and down to the favors. Pretty lime green favor vases can be found at http://www.chicweddingfavors.com to give out to guests, who will always remember your unique wedding colors as these fresh colored vases decorate their own home. This refreshing color has been popular for spring and summer weddings and can often been seen at fall weddings inspired by an apple theme.

Other colors on the scene may be bright oranges and yellows. Orange and peach are predicted to be a popular wedding scheme for 2009. Use peach colored wedding favor boxes tied with bright orange favor ribbons and you could include Tiger lilies in bridal bouquets. These colors can even lend to the flavors used in your reception meal. Bring on the tropical fruits! It's perfect for a beach wedding or a tropical themed wedding. Bright yellows will also be very popular, and when mixed with a tropical theme, what a beautiful wedding sight that would be! You could also have wedding favor boxes decorated with yellow and blue ribbon, as well as color coordinated place settings.

Pink has always been a popular color on the wedding scene. The beauty of this color is in its versatility. You can select everything from a pale pastel hue to bright neon. Hot pink is slated to be one of the most popular hues in the upcoming year. Pairing this shade of pink with lighter pinks can give your color palette the perfect sense of balance. Deck out the bridesmaids in classic, pastel or shocking pink for a modern twist to basic cream and white. Pale pink bridesmaids dresses accented with hot pink sashes would be a beautiful balance to a "pretty in pink" event. This color theme will be seen not only at pink weddings, but for sweet sixteen birthday parties, bridal showers and more.

Among the bold colors, will be the blues that are great for a midsummer nights dream wedding or winter events. Navy blues will appear with teal blue and aqua for weddings in shades of blue. Imagine a peacock and all the vibrant blue shades in its feathers. Brides have been selecting the peacock theme just to bring these great colors to the wedding.

Using one color may seem overwhelming for a wedding color theme. However, remember that colors have several hues and shades that can be combined together to create the right balance. When a wedding color is selected to go solo, it does not mean that there won't be natural accents in the wedding reception surroundings. It is likely that the bride will be distinctive in a color such as white or ivory to stand as an accent alone. The trick is to not make it look like buckets of paint have just been splashed all over your wedding reception. Creating a color scheme using one color is an art and with the help of a wedding designer and coordinator all the elements of your one major color scheme wedding can come together.

Color and the choices we make regarding the use of it, reflect our personalities. Likewise, the color or colors you choose for your wedding will also reflect your style and personality. It's no wonder that wearing it on your wedding will make you stand out. White symbolizes purity, cleanliness, and innocence.

Ivory: Many brides opt to have an ivory gown for their wedding. Ivory, like white, represents quiet, pleasantness with a touch of luster. Ivory is a soft, neutral color which has a touch of earthiness of brown hues. It carries the same pureness, softness, and cleanliness of white but is slightly richer, a touch warmer. This is a great color choice for brides having a spring or fall wedding, as the traditional seasonal colors compliment ivory.

Gold: Gold is a precious metal and the color gold is associated with wealth and prosperity. Gold is eye catching and lends richness and warmth to your color palette. Add a golden glow to an earthy palette of browns, orange or greens. Reds, burgundy and purple are warmed with hints of gold. A wonderful accent color to fall weddings, and a traditional hue.

Black: A conservative color, black goes with almost any color, except those with deep hues. It is sexy and sophisticated, modern and elegant. Many weddings which are black-tie, give off the feelings of opulence and grandeur. It is a year round color.

Yellow: Yellow is the color of sunshine. It denotes happiness and joy and is a warm color. It is a symbol of hope and courage. Alone, yellow makes an impact, and it compliments many other colors well when used as an accent color. Very pale yellows work for spring weddings, lemon yellows are lovely for a citrus summer theme and dark mustard yellows make fall weddings come alive.

Green: Green shades symbolize life, growth, fertility, health and the environment. With both a warming effect like yellow, and a cooling effect like blue, green is a balanced, harmonized color. Down to earth brides may be drawn to this color. Green can be used year round, by varying the shades. Think crisp springtime green, grass green for summer weddings, olive green for fall and emerald green for winter.

Blue: Blue is tranquil, calm, peaceful, honest, trusting, and faithful.
